September 2009

My hubby and I are off to Disney World tomorrow for a week long vacation. The last time we were at Disney we before our wedding. We had a destination wedding in Orlando and was able to go to both the magic kingdom and epcot in the days leading up to our wedding. It was a great time and I am excited to go back!

We had our bachelor/bachelorette party at Epcot by drinking around the world. It poured the whole day but we still had a blast with our bridal party and their spouses!

Last April was wonderful and I am sure being back will remind us of that time. This time we are staying on site at the Coronado. I have never stayed on site before so this should truly be a treat. We will not have to worry about anything, which is much needed after the stressful week I have had this week. I can’t wait to get away to the happiest place on earth!

Kath at katheats.com had a post about a lunch-box contest through applegate farms. I love lunch-boxes, so

I entered my favorite school lunch memory and won! I will post pictures as soon as I get it. It looks super cute and will be a great way for me to make even more nutritious lunches for my crazy work days. Here is my entry:

“I used to always take my lunch to school. I always found joy in picking a new lunch box at the start of the school year. I have found as an adult I have a love of lunch boxes again and like to buy new ones when I can to make taking a lunch to work more fun and exciting.”

You can go to this site to try and win your own lunch box. Hurry it is only until September 25th!

Here are some of my favorite lunches/lunch-boxes:

I have this lunch box and love all the little compartments.

I have a friend who has recently started running. Between him and all my blog friends, I am inspired to start running as well. I have decided to do the couch to 5K program, especially since they have an iPhone app. I have an insane week at work this week and then I will be on vacation so I will be starting on October 4. I am looking forward to this as I used to run. I completed the Nike Women’s half marathon a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, so it is time to get back. I need the time to clear my head and reduce stress. Right now I have no goal beyond running 3.1 miles straight. I will look into half marathon training programs once I complete the first 9 weeks. Any tips and tricks anyone can offer would be awesome! Wish me luck.

My husband and I took advantage of the lovely fall weather and went for a ten mile bike ride this afternoon. We also used it as an excuse to stop at Redbox and pick up a couple movies. We got “I love you man” and “the curious case of Benjamin button.”

I love reading about contests on other blogs. Check this one out: http://www.imadedinner.net/2009/09/16/slow-down-savor-giveaway-post/

I wanted to let you know that yes I am still alive. My brother and sister-in-law came to visit us from Oregon this past weekend. I had a ton of fun showing them around Indy and just having a good time catching up. I haven’t seen them since their wedding last September, so it was nice to spend time with them. Work is crazy this week. I have already put in 21 hours and it is only Tuesday! I hope to have a proper post with pictures and everything tomorrow. I have some cute ones from this past weekend!

My hubby was gone for dinner again tonight so I had to scour to find my own dinner. I decided to bake a Boca “chicken” burger. I put it on an Arnold thin bun with light thousand island and red onions. On the side I had broccoli with cheese sauce, veggie dip with added spinach, and bell pepper strips. I can’t believe how full it left me! I’d say it was a success!

My husband and I got new bikes from my wonderful in-laws about a month ago. Our favorite trail is the Monon, which is an old rail trail that has been turned into a biking/running trail. It goes all the way from North of town through downtown. Our typical route is to start up north and go down to broad ripple which is an awesome village in Indy. Usually we get something to eat there and then bike back. The whole trek takes about 2 hours and is 20 miles round trip. I love it! It is fun and gets us out into the fresh air. As the weather turns cooler it is even nicer to ride our bikes on the path. Our ultimate goal is to do a bike race, but until then I am enjoying our time together. Here is a picture of my bike: 7100wsd_robinseggblueThis bike is the perfect mix of comfort and style and I just adore it. There are many more bike rides in my future!
